Previously, Jonathan helped grow Vimeo as VP/GM, was a co-founder of Pronto, and held a variety of incubation roles at IAC/InterActivecorp. His career started in the Technology M&A Group at Banc of America Securities, and he graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Economics.
David Marcus
Founder, COO
David was born and raised in La Jolla, Ca. and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. David founded Superkix.com, a search engine for authentic sneakers. Prior to founding HiiDef Inc., David was a project manager at Trigram GC and founder of Project Rebar. David currently resides in Aventura, Fl with his brother Jonathan, and two dogs Marlo and Avon.
Jack Zerby
Co-Founder, Lead Designer
After graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology, Jack spent 3 years as a designer for Pentagram Design and partner Lisa Strausfeld. After Pentagram he worked as a designer for R/GA and Frog Design. Most recently he was the lead designer for Vimeo. He lives in Hoboken, NJ with his wife Marisa, and his baby boy Jack. He is also a musician with 3 independently released albums.
Ray Slakinski
Python Developer
Ray is a web developer with an expertise in backend technologies such as databases, task queuing and processing, content syndication and APIs and SEO. Before joining HiiDef, Ray has spent the past 3 years as a founding developer and architect at Mahalo where he researched and implemented key technologies that helped Mahalo to scale and rapidly develop new features. Prior to that he was the co-founder and co-creator of the first desktop Podcast client iPodderX. Ray has also advised on the Atom syndication format, appeared on Leo Laporte's Call for Help television program and This Week In Tech.
Sean Jackson
Developer / Designer
Sean is from Oakville, Ontario Canada and has been a professional developer for over 15 years. Sean has spent the last three years building and leading the design of all UI/UX experiences at Mahalo. Prior to Mahalo, he was one of the pioneers of web conferencing at Astound/Genesys Conferencing, creator of iPodderX for Windows and the social media site Popcurrent. He is passionate about jQuery, Python, Django, music, gadgets and spending time with his kids. Sean is a husband and a proud father of 4 wonderful children.
Heather Rasley
Marketing and Support
Heather has a background in communications, and is passionate about online identity. She holds a Humanities BA from New College of Florida and studied at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU. Previous employers include Automattic and Miles Media, where she served as web editor for the company's largest client. Born a Hoosier, she currently calls Sweden home.
Jason Moiron
Python Developer
Jason studied Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology. Before joining Hiidef, he worked at a variety of companies ranging from wireless network research to publishing. Jason also maintains a growing number of contributions to the python open source community. He loves programming, bad music, food, travel, proper football and the word fantastic. He lives in New York City with his fantastic girlfriend.
Brent Hagany
Python Developer
Before coming to HiiDef, Brent held programming positions in the travel and printing industries, where he developed skills in front and back end web programming, as well as some system administration. He lives with his wife and two kids in Wisconsin, where he cultivates a refined dislike for cold and snow, and enjoys copius amounts of reading, long board games, disc golf, and fantasy football.
Katie Allen
Customer Support
Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Katie is a recent transplant to New York City. She graduated cum laude from Rockhurst University with a degree in English, and has more than five years of experience in customer service, plus a keen interest in online community creation. She loves Indian food, Raymond Carver's short stories, and pale ales.
Jess Jacobs
Front End Developer
Residing in the tropical volcanic state, Jess is passionate about performance and solid architecture. She's happy about micro-frameworks, webGL, ecmascript 5, and node.js, and she's a tireless advocate for client-side MVC and browser reflow management. Jess enjoys philosophy, stouts, porters, biking, and driving insane distances to see beautiful places. She often combines her musical and engineering skills to form creative compositions with infinitely complex details under the moniker 'akisma'.
Hans Kuder
Python Developer
Hans studied electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Michigan. Before joining HiiDef, he wrote software to control robots at MTS Systems and helped build the health care startup Bloom Health. He has experience with scaling applications, wrangling Big Data, using statistics and machine learning to do useful things, and building engaging web products. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his indescribably incredible fiance Kaitlin and intractibly insane dog Mona.
Chad Johnson
Python Developer
Chad hails from Green Bay, Wisconsin where he lives with his wife and two children. After studying Computer Science at the University of Iowa Chad held positions in the ISP, Wireless, and Printing industries. Throughout his 10 years as a professional developer Chad has worked extensively with PHP, Perl, and Ruby. At HiiDef, with Python, Chad has embarked upon his fourth tour of duty with a major Linux scripting language. When not tirelessly hacking on open source projects Chad enjoys spending time with his family, b-grade horror movies, a fine micro brew, and rooting for the Packers.
